I have a JVC HD-ILA HD-61Z85 It has component inputs and one HDMi input. I am trying to hook my computer up to my tv so I can play videos, and S-Video works just fine but looks like crap. So I have a Radeon 9600 series video card, and I first tried to run a VGA to component cord from my card to my television. I got nothing but a blurry screen, but it might have been the wire I bought off ebay. After that didnt work and messing with the settings for the ATI catalyst program and powerstip program I gave up. So then I purchased a DVI to HDMi monster cord and it worked for about 2 minutes until it just didnt get a signal anymore it looked great but it still never fit the screen right. So after that I thought it might have been my video card. So I went out bought a Radeon x700 Pro tried it out. I put the card in and no luck at all with the DVI to hdmi cord no signal nothing and it said it would work better at least from what I read from reviews. So now I am here trying to get some help because I really would like my tv to work with my computer so I can set up a media center surf the web play video games you know all that fun stuff. So now I have been looking for a tuner that will allow DVI input and HDMi out that will come out with a nice signal, but once again no luck they have all hdmi inputs and dvi inputs but no dvi input and hdmi output. Just need some help so if you have any insight please message me back. Thanks

Here's a post and thread that might have some usefull info: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=444007

https://www.ecoustics.com/cgi-bin/bbs/show.pl?tpc=2&post=440574#POST440574 (I'm doing a system build right now so I didn't have time to read thru it to see if they answer is in that thread. On that same forum there is a big thread on HTPC's that might be useful.

BTW: Please post back HERE, on what you find out for far as exact setttings, I've got the same set you do. I think I read a post by Mr Lynch, him posting his settings at one point, you may want to post here: https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/69211.html

As a side note I think it's BS that it being 2006 that you can't just hook it up to a pc, tweak it a bit, and be up and running. I think the reason so many people are having problems doing so is because of the "Hollywood" types, them making sure their HDCP anti-copy BS works 110%.

Jason,

Are you getting anything through your HDMI connection? It is possible that you need to reset the HDMI port. The process to do so is listed in the main JVC thread.

I had connection in my HDMi for a couple minutes but when messing with the settings it wouldnt recognize a signal anymore. I am having a heck of a time trying to get this to work I feel like this is trial and error over and over again but just more and more errors. What is the link for the JVC thread I am pretty new to this posting stuff, this is my last resort because I dont know anyone else that has this television.

Jason, yes on one of the links I posted in which Bobo was talking about an ATI card , and the D-ILA, that PART of the thread IS archived. https://www.ecoustics.com/cgi-bin/bbs/show.pl?tpc=2&post=440574#POST440574

If you LOOK UP near the top of the page, you should see to the LEFT of were it says: "Archive through September 20, 2005", plus the name of the thread... Note that by clicking on that link it will take you to: https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/69211.html

Which is the same link I posted before:-)

Look at the title of the thread....it is the NEWEST part of that SAME thread....

On the lot to "read", be thankful there is something to "read"...

On the adapther you need if you choose NOT to use the HDMI input on the TV, If memory serves me right Bobo posted a link to the correct adapther.

Keep in mind you may have to reset the HDMI port, don't know how far out of spec it will go before it freaks out and (maybe) requires a reset. The HDMI ports on these TV's are sort of like Windows ver 1.0... not real stable.... But that HDCP part of the HDMI data stream works real good! (thank you Hollywood... LOL!)

Jason,

PM Mr. Lynch. He has his PC hooked up and should be able and willing to help.

Re: PM'ing Mr Lynch, instead of posting.

Ummm...

Jason / tvshopper,

Instead of asking questions via the PM system.... Why not instead post in the D-ILA thread so someone else may benefit from the same info?

There are allot of people that are looking to hook a PC to a D-ILA.... Maybe by someone posting such questions in the D-Ila thread we can get some ideas going back and forth on how to address problems doing so.

The thing is...

Pm'ing someone only helps (1) person.

Posting the info helps many.

Both take the same amount of time for the person "helping"... Is it not a better use of time to help 100 people, instead of (1)? Think about it...

Here is the link, once again:
https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/69211.html

One last thing, Jason, if you do PM Mr. Lynch, tell him to post either in the above link, OR since the question may be better "seen" here...

Have him post in THIS thread. (JVC HD-ILA I need HELP? Computer hook up to TV) instead of the big D-Ila thread in the link above.

(Here is the link to send to Mr Lynch if you PM him. You could also post in the D-ILA thread the same link asking him to respond here, instead of the D-IlA thread.

It may "spark" others who either want to do the same thing, OR better yet catch the "interest" of someone who DOES have a working PC /D-ILA set-up to post some info.

BTW: He follows that thread, so it would be pretty much the same as Pm'ing him anyways: https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/188427.html)

RE: pm'ed mr lynch but no luck yet.

That's one (big) reason, that I've told you to POST instead....
