In a reply to one of my previous posts user Nr4p made several good recommendations for my lousy OTA reception. One suggestion was to add a Channel Master pre-amp to the line.
My current setup is a DirecTV dish with an OTA (Winegard omni-directional MS1000) for the local HDTV channels along with a > 50' cable run from dish/ant. to receiver.
I see that Channel Master (now Andrew Corp.) has a pre-amp that gets it power from the dish receiver. From their web site: "They have been designed for optimized performance with a supply voltage of +12 to +22 VDC from a satellite receiver. This power is normally passed to the preamplifier via a 4032IFD diplexer which diplexes (combines) the VHF/UHF signals on to the same cable as the satellite signals."
Anyone have experience with this type of setup and/or hardware?
Will DirecTV provide any assistance (they haven't so far) on this types of setup or am I on my own?
