Unregistered guest | Hey guys.. i have a Samsung DLP TV.. (with DVI) and I bought a toshiba dvd player w/ HDMI output .. so then I bought a HDMI to DVI Adapter, now when i have everything hooked up, my dvd just says '' no signal '' ... I have changed the settings in the dvd player menu to '' component as directed by the manual.. is there anything that i'm forgeting? or some dark secret about this conversion?? |
Anonymous | If I read your post correctly, the component setting is wrong on your dvd player. There should be a setting for hdmi out using rgb (do not use ycbcr since you have dvi on your tv). If doesn't work, post model # of toshiba. |

Anonymous | Press the hdmi button on the front panel until you see 720p. Remove any other video cables such as component cables, s-video, or yellow composite cable. Set your tv to the dvi input. My two concerns are if your tv is hdcp compliant and if this player works with dvi. The first concern should be answered in your tv owners manual. The second I can't seem to find in any toshiba literature. Normally, a company clearly illustrates how to use a dvi to hdmi adapter for their player. |
Nick Amiclair Unregistered guest | yes, i found out using this post: that the tv is HDCP Compliant.. now I don't know how to comprehend that?? |
