ok, i just spent an hour at fry's staring at each of the above mentioned except the xx78, they didn't carry them.
first off, what freaking differences are in these? even the samsung page does not make it clear whats going on....
and as for the xx88, the material they use on the screen seems to reflect light much less than any other series. the screen seems to be less "glossy" which is much better and i seem to notice just an overall greater picture on the xx88. why the xx88 series HAS to be on a pedastal is beyond comprehension. their best model = the ugliest.
anyways, if anyone can shed details on differences between these, it would be great help.
The 68 and 78 have the exact same internal components as the 88. The 68 is a floating screen design, meaning that the screen appears to float an inch above the speaker panel. The 78 is a solid cabinet design and costs more for no apparent reason. All the above mentioned sets are the new 1080P chip with the 6th generation light engine. With 1080 progressively scanned lines they are the highest resolution panels. This is important if you are interested in the larger 61 inch display.
The 67 is a 720P chip with a 5th gen light engine. Most everyone who has taken the plunge into HD fixed pixel sets in the past few years has a 720P. They look fabulous on displays up to 56 inches.
