Anonymous | If your Pansat 2500a is dead, read the following: My own experience could be of help. I had an Original Pansat (to the best of my knowledge) dead after installing the Fortec N2 bin. I had to J-Tag it to come back to life. Then I've installed the 253 bin. The result -> Night rider. Ihad to J-Tag again. By this time I've first download the last bin from PanasatUsa site, it worked, then I've installed the 253 and it worked like a charm. I presume that if you are able to install the original Panat bin first, you can safelly instal the 253 without problems. A possible explanation is that 253 looks for the previous bin to check if it is a clone or not. I'd sugest to try this path with clones that are able to work with original Pansat bins. |

Minutes before I loaded the new bin I shut off the receiver with the remote with no problem. What happened??? I thouhgt there was a possibility of the receiver being fried NOT the remote. Any suggestions on how I can program it to get it going again...otherwise the receiver with the Nag2 Bin is useless!! |

LK Unregistered guest | I called one guy at pansatusa.com and another I called was at pansatusa.net..They both told me the clones were not produced until late September/ early October and that also THE INITIAL PANSATS DID HAVE A STICKER for the FCC clause and not medal indentation. There were stickers on the true Pansats until September 2004.In September 2004 they then did away with the stickers. |

MMMMMMMMMM Unregistered guest | You cannot just grab the N2 keys like you did the N1 keys.and you cannot just manually input them either.those days are gone.thats why FTA now is going to change.there is no keymaster/keygrabber. there is no autoroll bins.ONLY a VERY few coders can find the keys and MUST release a new bin everytime they change. So if you want TV,you must apply a new bin,not the keys now. |

Anonymous | Hey Person "nobody" or "LK"... Quick question. I understand for Pansat 2500, if we want to go from N1 to N2, we would need to flash our receivers again. So I read/search and downloaded "Pantec-Pansat-2500-09_14_05.BIN". By now this BIN may be obsolete, but just trying to get the process understand. I also used gTool to load my channel list. I followed the instruction and complete the download for both the Bins and Channel lists. I hook up my receiver and I see a new channel list, but I no video. It could be due to old bins. So my question is, do we just need new Bins every so often, just like we changed Keys for N1? ORRRR we need N2 keys aswell? I did not understand how N2 keys work. Where and how and if we need to change N2 keys. I will really appreciate any help in this matter. I did allot of reading for about 10-12 different sites, but did not get the whole picture. I finally found clear directions and I am self-sufficient. for 2500a(and all others are available) go to dss central.net, fta files, pansat. get EZ start 2 package. follow directions but substitute the newest bin which is pansat 251 slow ecm. I can't believe how easy it was. save your channel list first w/ channel master program which is also in there. every channel is up. |

I used blacklist updater v1.4 to load pansat bins from dss central. 1. I did a factory reset on my box, up until now I was getting some locals on nag 1. 2. I loaded the boot60 bin to start from scratch. 3. I loaded factory pansat bin: 2500A_050101_232_api(N).bin 4. I loaded new nag 2 bin: X-85BL_050909_253_api(N)_2.bin 5. I loaded latest p_orn bin: Pansat 251 slow ecm 09-13-05.BIN 6. Loaded channel list using GTools: 2500N2DP.GTD 7. Plugged my sh*t in and it works!!!! I have most channels on nag 2 but only problem is some transponders don't get any single. A couple of p_orn channels keep going in and out. Here are the SAT's I'm getting and the transponders that get no reseption: Echo 8.6/Ku Transponders 4,7,9,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30, 31,32 out! On these transponders Level is average 60, Quality is 0. Echo 7/Ku Transponders 3,4,5,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21 out! On these transponders Level is average 70, Quality is 0. My box is original pansat, says made in Korea and has FCC stamp on back plate, no sticker. So for all you programmers I hope this info helps in the fight. When I was on Nag1 I was getting all channels, my dish has not moved and my DISEQC switch seems to be fine. Now I installed Nag2 bin on pansat2500 and everything is working fine but my satalite single is 0% on some transponders, both 110 and 119. Alot of channels have no reseption. Other than that I don't know what to do to fix it. Any advise on what to chase down or is it because of the bin file. |

This is something that never happened to me before. I tried to unplug and plug in my box again to no avail. You guys are wizards in this staff so help me please. Any suggestions? What is a bin and bin flush? Most of the time I don't recognize the written language. And, before you bush me, OK I'm illeterate when it comes to that. Anonymous | Hi All- I did the following (a failed attempt) to move from N1 to N2. 1. I loaded Pantec-Pansat-2500-09_14__05.bin 2. I loaded new nag2 bin: X-85BL_050909_253_api(N)_2.bin 3. Using gtool, I loaded the channel list: Channel Lst 110-119.gtd All of my downloads were fine. The receiver did what the instruction said it would do.. i.e power off after the download and back on... I hook up my receiver, and i see the new channel list and a different look from N1. However..... it does not work for me. I am getting "downloading data" screen. I tried "blind scan" w/ vertical polarity but that did not help either. Does any one has a clue what could be wrong here.. I just need few tips to get this problem resolved. Appreciate your time for a quick response. |

Anonymous | Anonymous - Initially I did not do a factory reset. I just loaded the new bins on top of what I had in flash from N1. But yesterday, I did do a factory reset. I got the same old "ON" sign when I first bought the receiver before any programming of the receiver. I repeated the steps I listed above. I am still getting "Bad Signal" screen. Any other clues ? Is it necessary to perform a bind scan even if you load the channel list via gtool? I checked my signal. The level and Quality are like 68% and 90%. |

Echo 3 at 61.5 is for international channels. I am getting most of the local channels but no internation channels. I guess I will do a "blind scan" on Echo 3 to see it helps. But anyway.. New member Username: KeyismePost Number: 4 Registered: Sep-05 | heres how to change to nag2 Fortec Lifetime Ultra- Flash Instructions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I used the files and the method below on my Fortec Lifetime Ultra unit just last night (Sept. 21, 2005) and it worked straight away. Here are the instructions and the files to flash your Fortec Lifetime Ultra. 1) Download .ultra281_patched_09-31-05-ecmYou can get it here http://fta/central.cm 2) Download to your computer Blacklist STB UPDATER.ZIP. You can get it here http://fta/central.cm 3) Save both files to a directory on your computer and uncompress them. 4) Disconnect your Fortec unit from your TV and connect just the serial 9 pin cable to the unit and hook it up to your computer. Do not power up the Fortec yet. 5) Locate the 'Blacklist STB Updater 1.3.exe' file and run it. Select your COM port. It defaults to COM1. Make sure BIN is selected. The BAUDRATE reads BLKLST and cannot be changed. Use the BROWSE button to locate the ultra281_patched bin but dont hit fix yet 6) Now power on your Fortec using the power switch at the back. Watch the panel in the front. As soon as you see the first green bar appear, hit the 'FIX' button of the 'Blacklist Updater utility. You should now see a progress bar indicating that your unit is being flashed. Wait until you see a 'Complete' and then click 'OK'. That's it. Your unit is ready. You may now power it off and disconnect it from your PC. 7) Hook the Fortec back to your TV and power it back up and it should work .do a scan of all sats and ready to go unless you wanna put in channel list there r alot of threads in here how to do that.remeber to take out / and add o to com on website |
