Latest news: Nov. 5 2005 from satscam.com Free-To-Air no longer the only game in town.. Several new devices have come in the last few days/weeks,... AVR-X, from avr-x.com, is a board that taps into the tsop via a built-in jtag, we have tested it and noticed a few small bugs, but have been told all will be ironed out with the first software release at the end of this weekend.
The next is the Syndrome board, unfortunately we do not have one to test, although we have been told by modchipit, it will be forth coming shortly. as we understand it, it is similar to the AVR-X in many respects but the technology is very different.
The next is the old and trusted Atmega 128 board with private software, we received it from canadiandss.com, installing was a snap, and it worked perfectly, unfortunately we are down with it right now, and have arranged to have it fixed and for them to reprogram an HU loader so we can update it ourselves. there is a fix available for it and it is working, but we have not updated ours yet. being able to fix it yourself will end the downtime of arranging schedules to find time arrange fixes.
Next is the plastic 3m (yellow card) we have not been able to test a rom101 3m card so we cannot comment on it, rumours have it rom102 and rom103 are not far off, but time will tell. at this time we believe all of the above are based on the rom101 card, including all free to air receivers. We have been told to expect a viewsat to test within a week arranged by ftasource.com
