I have several VHS recordings from '82 to '88 that I want to transfer to the PC and then on to DVDs. The transferring part is no problem, however the tapes seem to be playing at a speed just out of the range of the range of either of my current VCRs. One tape in particular shows only a blue screen 99% of the time with a flash of a picture now and then. Most of the others are the opposite, showing a picture(with some slight noise bars) 99% of the time with a blue screen flashing in. My totally uninformed reaction was that I need a VCR with manual tracking or, if there is a difference, a manual speed(?) control. Am I correct in assuming this is all I need or could there be a tape "age" issue?... like a weak signal from the tape? I really want to save these recordings! HELP!!!
Thanks in advance, Sandy
