This is my quandry - I bought the 62" Mitsu Diamond series DLP yesterday and it comes with dual tuners, and built in 160gb hard drive. I called MediaCom today in reference to getting a cable card for the TV, and they told me that they were out of stock, and are backordered approximately 3 months.
Now, first question, is what exactly does a cable card consist of? Is there any GOOD reason why they would be back ordered that long into the future? Will I be able to use my DVR functions with a cable box from what you all know?
Second, is my only choice waiting, or is there another source of cable cards? I am not talking illegal, but rather buying from the source instead of waiting for my cable company to get thier act together.
