Haven't seen any info on this but how will the lack of a phone line connected to a DirectTV DVR affect the functionality of the DVR. Direct TV says that it won't function at all except as a reciever and I won't be able to pause live TV. Anyone have a DirectTV DVR that they haven't hooked up to a phone line. How does yours work?

I have a Samsung DVR with tivo. I had to hook the unit up to a phone line when I activated my Directv service and tivo service. After that the unit has never been hooked up to a phone line and everything works as it should. The only draw back is a senseless prompt screen that comes up now & then when moving between tivo functions reminding you that it has been xxx number of days since your system last called in.
