Try loading wingnut's legacy channel list and see if you get any signal on the missing channels or the tp's which those channels are on.
Sometimes channel lists work better than a blind scan.
To get all the channels available at this point , your best bet is to do a scan, as charlie is fu*cking around changing Tps a lot these days. After the scan is finished, push the "SAT"button on the remote and you should have a Echostar Package option in there, all channels should be there in the same order as they are in the Dishnet numbering order. You will probably have duplicate channels in this list because some channels are available in both satellites or three whatever you might have. If this is the case, upload the list to your PC with Channel Master and edit the repeated channels out .Keep the channels from Echo 7 and fill the rest with echo 6,8.Save the list, load it back in to the receiver and you should now have the list updated to the most recent Tps changes. That is the way I did , I hope it works for you.
no I have not tried that as of yet because i have never done that. where can i find channel master and what typ of channel list could i use with that program?
Channel Master on SharpC's site: http://sharpc.dyndns.info/CM/update.aspx
al7bat. tk, register there and download a channel list suited for your setup or location (search for either dido smith's channel list or wingnut's, they are often updated and have full channel names, you might need to edit sat names in CM to take advantage of the echostar package, of which LK was talking about previously.)
Also check out dsscentral. net, they have useful downloads.
P.S. if you have Dish pro setup then download a dish pro channel list, if not then download legacy list. Channel Master also gives you an option to convert legacy to dish pro.
Its much easier just to do a scan...U must be doing something wrong if U can get ONLY 1 channel with a scan!...either your dish is not aligned correctly or U have a single or dual LNB getting only 1 satellite...or U did not reset back to factory default (password 0000-1668) ...or your menu-antennae setup is not configured according to your LNB or disque switch or U didn't do a receiver reboot..
Factory reset brings your reciever to its virgin state, resets all the settings back to what they were when the box left the factory, so in case you configured something wrong either intentionally or by mistake the factory reset will give you a fresh start.
Not sure as I've never actually dealt with multistar, but there should be something in the menu that either says factory reset, reset to factory or factory default (or if you have a factory bin you can flash your receiver with that as well.)
And yes, after you manage to reset your box, load the latest bin.
ok I checked and there is something there and just says factory and when i click on it you have a choice of delete or exit is this ok? i dont want to screw up the reciever??
thanks in advance

blind scan does not always pick up every tp..that is a fact. with that said you have a choice of either using an updated ch. list or scanning. Now if you go to lyngsat. com then u can see what chs. your missing and find out what tps. they are on and if there missing add them.a simmple change from V to H or vice versa in the polarization, maybe all thats needed

isn!t it true that dtv&dishnet will soon be transmitting in MPEG4 format in the next couple of months, making all these hardware obsolete????
