THe tv im looking at does not have one but does have a HDSC, does this work or is it made for different purposes. if i were to get this television, what all would i need to buy to get it working? thanks everyone |

Silver Member Username: FyiDallas, Texas Post Number: 369 Registered: May-05 | Lots of acronyms make things confusing. HDSC is short for High Density Signal Carrier. It has to do with the upconversion or reformatting of input signals to the sets native display resolution. It has nothing to do with whether a set has an integrated tuner capable of receiving digital high definition signals. I don't remember the model you were talking about, but it either has a digital tuner along with the old analog tuner or it does not. The description should be clear about that. As I recall, the set was rather inexpensive, which would account for it's lack of a digital tuner. That would make it an HD Ready type set in need of an external ATSC digital tuner. |
