808 Unregistered guest | looks like most of the channels are moved to the n2 stream. my gues is, charlie will shut the n1 stream down by the end of the month. my fortec still working ok on sept.14 n2 bin, all channels open, some miner freezing problems on a few channels. the real test will be when charlie shuts down the n1 stream. hope fta will still work after that. |

Shanna Unregistered guest | HI! Can anyone help me. I downloaded the 281 bin and the patch from dbschat.com but i'm only recieving local channels. Does anyone know what the problem could be. I have a fortec lifetime ulra. When ever I go to a ppv channel it has a $ sign on it. The rest of the channels except for the local channels also have a dollar sign on them. I'd appreciate any help. New member Username: KeyismePost Number: 7 Registered: Sep-05 | nag2 fix no more keys Fortec Lifetime Ultra- Flash Instructions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I used the files and the method below on my Fortec Lifetime Ultra unit just last night (Sept. 21, 2005) and it worked straight away. Here are the instructions and the files to flash your Fortec Lifetime Ultra. 1) Download .ultra281_patched_09-31-05-ecmYou can get it here http://fta/central.cm 2) Download to your computer Blacklist STB UPDATER.ZIP. You can get it here http://fta/central.cm 3) Save both files to a directory on your computer and uncompress them. 4) Disconnect your Fortec unit from your TV and connect just the serial 9 pin cable to the unit and hook it up to your computer. Do not power up the Fortec yet. 5) Locate the 'Blacklist STB Updater 1.3.exe' file and run it. Select your COM port. It defaults to COM1. Make sure BIN is selected. The BAUDRATE reads BLKLST and cannot be changed. Use the BROWSE button to locate the ultra281_patched bin but dont hit fix yet 6) Now power on your Fortec using the power switch at the back. Watch the panel in the front. As soon as you see the first green bar appear, hit the 'FIX' button of the 'Blacklist Updater utility. You should now see a progress bar indicating that your unit is being flashed. Wait until you see a 'Complete' and then click 'OK'. That's it. Your unit is ready. You may now power it off and disconnect it from your PC. 7) Hook the Fortec back to your TV and power it back up and it should work .do a scan of all sats and ready to go unless you wanna put in channel list there r alot of threads in here how to do that rememer take out / and add o to wedsite |

808 Unregistered guest | "ANONYMOUS" try going here pantecdvb.com. make sure you load the right bin file, be carefull, pansat has released clone kill bin files. and could kill a pansat 2500a with slower chip in it. pansat didn't care, they wanted to get rid of the pansat clone receivers on the market. |

HBO may have been moved to n2. charlie will probly have all channels moved to n2 by the end of the month. and will shut down the n1 stream all together. hope these fta's stay up with these so called n2 bins. so far my fortecs have been up with sept.14 bin. all channels wide open, i gues will find out by the end of the month. |

808 Unregistered guest | anybody thinking about buying a fta receiver, might want to save your money. wait and see what charlies going to do next. heard that the fta n2 bins still need the n1 stream in order to function. so one charlie shuts down n1, fta may be gone for awhile or long time. i gues we will see. have fun and good luck testing fta. |
