I just registered, I need help with installing a cable card into my hdtv, samsung HL-R5067W. I can't get any channels. I don't know if it's my cable connection, something wrong with the cable card or if i'm just totally doing something wrong. The messge on the tv reads: scrambled channels or weak signal. Any suggestions? Adelphia is sending a cable guy out Tuesday, 09/27/2005. The problem is i don't have much confidence in the cable techs in my area. A cable guy came out on Saturday, 09/24/2005 and tried for 2 hours before he gave up and left. He told me to call the customer service number. I was on the phone practically all day on Saturday and i am still unable to watch tv.
Don't use CableCard! It's a flawed frustrating technology for most. I don't even recommend you stick with cable. It's the worst, most inconsistant signal source. I like Direct TV along with off-air ED/HD digital networks on a UHF antenna.
Cable is only good if you can receive true ED/HD digital signals. SD (standard def) is usually very bad. Cable boxes distort SD even more.
