Is there a way to record my recordings from my Directv DVR to my SONY RDR-GX315? I have also noticed that Red Pro is recommended for VHS and DVD to DVD but would that work for Directv DVR to DVD? My Directv DVR has the "record to VHS" option. If I was to record to VHS could I then turn around and record from that same VHS to DVD? I have read several threads of people who are able to record for DVR to DVD by using S-Video cords and other methods which are not working for me. I'm sorry I new to this so any help would we appreciated.... THANKX |
Bruce12 Unregistered guest | I have DVD Red PRO working exellent with my Sony RDR-VX500 combo. I've got it from: http://www.xdimax.com/dvd/dvdredpro.html BTW they have a nice trick to let me use build in VCR and DVD recorder. You may be interesting in it as well http://www.xdimax.com/dvdred_faq/faq_51119106521.html#sonyrdr And finally you can use it with S-Video ( http://www.xdimax.com/dvd/svideo.html ) but it will not give you any quality advantage as modern digital devices havethe composite video and S-Video signals quality nearly the same. |

Just use the rca jacks out on the dvr to your IN on the dvd the out the dvd to your recorder. Unless your dvr is different than a tivo you dont need any software to record anything. |

It gives me a copyright warning and stops recording. I have also tried using S-video connection from dvr to dvd and nothing.. I have even gone as far as trying to record from my dvr to my vcr (which I was able to do) but then when I tried coping from my vcr to my dvd-rw, it gave me the same copyright error. I'm hoping that RED PRO would solve this for me... Any thoughts? |
Unregistered guest | just got my Sony RDR GX315 working fine except, it stops recording after about 20 seconds, seems to be something I'm doing wrong or the unit is a problem, anyone else gave the same/similar problem? I've reformatted, using DVD-RW and DVD-R thanks rick@hornickrivlin.com |
