iwantanewtv Unregistered guest | I bought the Panasonic 50" DLP. I would like to know what cables I should use and which inputs they should be hooked to? I have Direct TV with the HD box, no surround sound and just a regular dvd player. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to calibrate the set? Thanks for your time and your opinions. |

You should really get yourself a surround sound receiver to enjoy digital 5.1 audio. It really makes the home theater experience worthwhile and they don't cost very much. |

Amazing BTW Before you rip the box open. You better order a lamp. https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/121989.html https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/163150.html https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/121989.html |

There are many variables with lamp life. Manufacturing, transportation, cycles, operating temperature, proper cooling, etc. Running a small UPS for proper cool down during a power outage is a must. The Pani DLP uses a better lamp and cooling design than the Pani LCxx models. |

I used the "Ladder 49" DVD. There are others, though. Some purchase Video Essentials or Avia from eBay. I think the THX does just as well and you get to watch the movie. |

I just ordered their component cables and some rca cables. The 4M Component cables were 18 bucks plus 5 bucks shipping, and they say that they are comparable to Monster video 3's which cost about 80 bucks retail. I did some internet searches and everyone that has tried them seems to be very satisfied. I should get them by the end of the week. I will post back when I get them to report back. |

I bought some of their gold plated versions, and they ended up coming appart at the connnector. Maybe their newer versions are better, but I will not spend my money to find out. There are much better and cheaper alternatives. Check out the cable forum for more info. https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/accessories/51.html |
