I have a newer DVD player that doesn't have a coaxial hook up on the backside. I am trying to hook it up to my older TV that doesn't have any hookups but a coaxial. Is there anyway I can connect the two without spending $40 on a RF modulator?

You can get modulators for less than $10, you aren't looking very hard if all you can find is $40.
