Hi Everyone. I am new to this forum and looking for some info. I bought the Philips plasma about 3 weeks ago and I love it. Great pq. I have some concerns though.
Image seems to retain very quickly. Just keeping the Direct TV menu up for a very short period of time will cause image retention. It always goes away after I out some full screen video up, but should it be retaining so quickly? Is this normal?
Also there is a section of my screen that seems lighter then the rest. It lacks definition, but it is squarish. It is only visible on a completely black area, or if I look at the screen with no signal coming in. It does not show up on a white screen at all. It looks kind of like streaks on a clean window. It looks like it could an image retention but it has no real shape to it, and it does not seem to be going away. Anyone heard of anything like this? If I have a black screen up should it be completely clear or is some color distortion normal? Like I said it is almost un-noticeable but I do see it if that part of the screen is black.
I have my contrast, and brightness down under 50% as well as the sharpness (not sure if that matters). Any help advice or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.
