OK...First post and it'll probably sound like a complete "duh" but here goes. I recently got an Optoma H31 projector and it's HDTV ready. At the present time my TV signal is routed through a VCR tuner. I don't have HBO or any other subscriptions but wonder if I could pick up local stations/network that are broadcast in HDTV via the cable. I was considering an RCA ATSC11 to try to get a sharper picture for NFL and NCAA BBall.
Thanks for any help

"HDTV ready" means it still needs a QAM tuner to process and decode an HD signal. If your local cable company offers HD you will need one of their HD STB's (STB=Set Top Box). An alternative is to purchase an antenna and a seperate HD receiver such as the RCA ATSC11 but you will not get ESPNHD OTA (Over The Air).
