It finally died a sputtering death by refusing to stay on for more than a few seconds. One thing however it did well before it died was accept input from my multisystem VHS recorder. A steady solid color picture. My new DVD recorder is Sony RDRGX300 - a great machine - but connecting the VHS to it generates a b&w image with a constant case of the jitters and the kind of roll we used to fix with the horizontal control on old tvs. Does anyone have an idea if this is due to the built-in macro detector in the GX300 - the VHS machine when just connected to the TV seems to function well without the jitters - would connecting a macrovision filter between the two be the answer? Thanks for any suggestions. I would like to move my UK tape library to discs. Bob |
