Need some opinions

Hi all,

I'm planning on buying a DVD player soon, since it seems that most new videos are going to DVD format. The PS2 works ok for a DVD player, but it's not very convenient and pretty low quality feature wise.

I've looked around at various dvd players, but am not sure what exactly to get.

Some of the most important features to me would be:
-Ability to turn letterbox widescreen dvd movies into full screen (not sure what that feature is called?)
-Multi-disc changer, 3 would be enough, 5 is okay
-Convenient remote with all necessary features, mainly switching between discs & fast-forwarding
-Plenty of connectors since we have a satellite receiver, playstation, and VCR in addition to the TV
-*ideally* a DVD player and VCR combo in one so I can get rid of my current old VCR and save space

Could anyone give some advice on what I should be looking for, or any suggestions? I'm having trouble finding a DVD & VCR combo that also has a disc changer. Do any of those exist? My budget is around $150, but $100 would be ideal.

Thanks

Stay away from combos, you're asking for trouble. Obviously you already have a VCR and want to keep the cost down, so why pay more for something that is inferior in quality?

Thanks for the link.

I do have a VCR, but it is quite old. It still works fine, but i'm not sure on the lifespan of them. It's about 15 years old.

I think a combo would be more convenient for the space it saves. If the dvd/vcr combos are not very good quality though, it wouldn't be worth that.
