It's been awhile and I have not heard anything. We left off that the head Vizio tech. designer of the Vizio p50hdm would contact about the situation concerning burn in protection. Now a new problem is that many of that model seem to have excessivly loud fans X2. The bezel looks warped and cheap as well. Looking forward in hearing some news, thanks again.
I am looking this too since it will be at $2600 next week at costco. I like it's price and ample inputs connection. vinc.com boast it has more than 60,000 hours life time to half brightness equivalent to 25 years but it never mention burn-in protection. Is it a common practice for every manufacturer to disclose this information or it's already taken care of and is no need to day that? It also boasts 231 billion colors. How that number was gained?
One thing I dislike about this tv is its appearance. The black frame sitting on gray speakers. It's also too high when you put it on the stand and sit on couch to watch it. Most TV stand are higher than 20 inches and the top of the tv is really too high for your eye level. The built in speakers on all makes and all models are inferior than the speakers you will put for your hometheater if you relatively care about sounds. I checked it out in costco and the picture quality is really good, same as those high priced Pioneer and Panasonic.
