I have a generic DVD Player (it has no brand name? I looked all over the manual--which I can't understand very well since it's in Chinese--and specs but it has none) that connects to my TV. Whenever I play a movie, the sound plays normally. But the dialogue the characters have are all muted, even if the volume is turned all the way up. So technically I can only hear the background effects/music.
Everything is plugged in correctly, obviously since the audio (except the talking) and the video has no problem. I'm guessing that the characters' muted dialogue is a manual setting, however the problem is that our remote control is GONE and we can't change the settings.
Is there a way to get this fixed without a remote control? For some reason, all of our DVDs that I could previously hear the dialogue on now have muted dialogues. I've tried putting the DVD on other players and now I can't hear the dialogue on other players anymore either. And getting a new remote control didn't help because it doesn't match the DVD player I have.
Or in the other case WITH a remote control, what setting needs to be changed to have unmuted dialogue?
