I have just read in a magazine that you can get 60,000 hours out of an lcd bulb. Phoned hitachi twice, once they said 1,200 hours them 4,000 which is it?

Shane the problem is that first of all it is dependent on many factors related to your personal usage. Next an hourly rating for these bulbs is the average half life in a continious on test environment. This means that a 60,000 hour rating indicates that 50% of the bulbs will last 30,000 hours in a test environment not in your home.
So my answer above of "YES" is the only possible answer to your question the way you worded it. In other words my answer was much more reasonable than the initial question.
