1) I have flashed my (2005)receiver(usb/win xp) many times with factory uploader with success until now. I already had Al7bar FTA Ultra 050613 276 bin loaded and working great. So i decided to load modified 276 bin for clock fix, for the first time i noticed that the progress rate wasn't matching between pc and receiver. I was already concerned. When it reached download complete, the receiver was at 232 instead of 100. 232 actually matches the size of the installer program by coincidence, but anyway, i got knight rider. Tried many times the Ultra boot repair kit, still not working. Is there away to clear firmware first before trying factory upload? When trying the repair kit over again do you have to start from the boot bin everytime? I noticed in repair kit instuctions when you name STB when entering the factory bin Al7bar FTA Ultra, should that be Lifetime Ultra or does it matter? I been trying for hours and i can't get it reboot. Any help would be appreciated.
2) I'll be getting another fortec receiver(need one for bedroom). Will try s/w tranfer if i can't get it working with above method. I have a straight thru cable for bin updates. Can i use rs232 cable with straight thru cable hooked up together for s/w transfer that way i'll have female on each end?
