Hello. Sorry if this is a dead horse, but I'm rather new to this and had a question. I will be purchasing my first HDTV this fall. I'm currently looking at the JVC HD-52G886 and the Panny PT-61LCX65. Now I know both sets accept feeds in 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i and that bothsets upconvert anything below 720p to that resolution. Now the question is do they down convert 1080i to 720p and if so is that a bad thing? I know the 1080p sets are just around the corner but I'm thinking right now I'm going to wait those out a few years to see if it's worth it. Any help would be appreciated.

They convert every input signal to 720p, that is all they will display.
