Hi. A friend sent me some DVD-R's. Of them, two won't play on my Pioneer DV-563A. I've put them in my PC DVD-ROM drive and found, by looking at the menu, that these two were burned on a Phlips DVD-R recorder. Could this be the reason they won't play on the Pioneer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. These are the two discs I most wanted to see. Thanks.
That could be the reason. I have this player and so far it has played everything I have put into it. Granted, I have only tried DVD-R disks. This might be the problem. It might not play the DVD+R disks. You might check that out and see if that is what the phillips burns. Good luck.

I burn a lot of DVD's (Plextor) and play it on my pioneer and have not had a problem. I would think it's the way they were burned, not the player.
