Budget DVD player

I don't want to spend a lot of money on a progressive scan player. I'm looking at the following players and would like some opinions:

JVC XVN312S
JVC XVN-N310B
Toshiba SD3960
Toshiba SD3980
Samsung DVD-P341

I Have 3 of the XV-N410B players, they work great. I tried the 310, it's definitely worth $10 extra for the 410. 12 bit 108 MHz processor instead of the 10 bit 54 MHz on the 310, plus more picture adjustments. I bought 2 of the 410s on e-bay a month ago for $20, can't beat it.

I have this Samsung DVD-P341. No complaints at all! Though I don't know anything about the other ones.

I can get the Samsung for $30. It has a 12 bit 96MHz processor. Not bad for a low priced player.

If you're goind to get a Panasonic, get one with a direct drive spindle motor, the S27 has a DC brush spindle motor. Panasonic DC spindle motor problems are very well known.

So, what I seeing here so far is that many of you are recommending to stay away from the players I listed above? If so, it looks like I can't go wrong with a Panasonic.
