I know this has probably been discussed numerous times here, but I cannot find a definitive answer; Can I connect the stereo RCA out of my DVD player to the mono RCA in of a portable TV using a Y-adapter without causing damage to the DVD output. I have always been under the belief it was a "no-no" to combine two outputs to one input (certainly never to combine the outputs of two different components anyway). Will this give me better sound than simply RCA white to RCA white? Thanks in advance.
You can use a Y cable, I've been using one on a mono TV for months, it won't hurt anything. A Y cable is definitely better than one cable, you'll miss a significant portion of the audio with only one side connected.
please can someone recommend a DVD player with a stereo out (3.5 mm jacks), I just want to listen to some music, not interested in movies... thanks! Luka
