I was just wondering what other features one should look for in a DVD player besides progressive scan (and the obvious input/outputs). What makes the more expensive progressive scan players better than the cheap ones? Thanks for the help
Silicone and maths. Some players have more powerful chips (measured in MHz and bits). With these chips, digital processing can be made deploying more advanced algorithms. Sometimes a proprietary algorithm (f.e. Faroudja) is used, whitch brings about a license cost for manufacturer.
