I understand the inherent problems of combos, and perhaps I wasn't specific enough in my request. This combo is for my parents who have a space issue in their entertainment center, so it's not a choice of preference, but one of practicalllity. The reason that I posted this thread was to see if someone could suggest a manufacturer who builds a good quality combo, thus reducing the amount of product information I will have to sift through to make an informed decision regarding this purchase. If anyone out there has any helpful suggestions, once again I would be very grateful. Thanks

Try Sony. But it's all relative because Massey is basically right.

I just said that, and explained why I still wanted to persue this. Your responses both were one step away from being monosyllabic, and of no use to me at all. I suspect that this forum is little more than a means of providing yourself with aggrandizement.

If the VCR portion of the combo is working, use it to play the tape, go output of it to the input of the other computer. When you say that there are no jacks on the tv, are you referring to RCA jacks, or actually no means of attachment, 75ohm coax, 300ohm ribbon, nada? If that's the case, duct tape might work. Actually, if the tv doesn't have any connectors, your are out of luck, and I highly recomend not looking around inside for a means of attachment, plugged in or not, there are high voltage potentials whick will remain for a long time. This is my first and last posting in these forums, so good luck, I would also suggest that rather than hijacking someone elses thread, that you start your own. More people will see it, so you'll get a better response.

I gave you a specific suggestion. I can't help if you are too mentally challenged to utilize it. Good luck.
