DVD player PICTURE wont stop SCROLLING on TV

My dvd player was working fine but when I turned it on yesterday I Noticed the tv picture kepts scrolling - even without a dvd in the player. I tried every button to make adjustments but it wont stop. any help would be greatly appreciated!!
