Anonymous | I was considering one of Panasonics industrial plasma displays, either the 42 or 50 inch. I have read that they are great units but connectivity is a bit of an issue. Now apparently you can order extra imputs and outputs when you buy the tv so I was wondering if anyond had any recommendations as to what would be worth adding. Also any opinions on the TV. Thanks, Jim |

From a lot of reviews and opinions, I have not heard one negative thing about this TV. If you speak to people at stores like www.tweeter.com, the associates will tell you that the picture engine of the Onyx (the consumer version of the TH-50PHD7UY) is of equal, if not better, quality than the 50" Pioneer Elite model PRO1120HD. In fact, the Panasonic has higher resolution and contrast ratio. Dollar for dollar, I think most people will agree that you can beat the Panny. Good luck! |

You can also use an adapter and hook up a component set in the VGA port. That would make two components, a composite or S-video and DVI (or you could add an HMDI). I would think that would be plenty. |
Anonymous | Jonathan, Did you make these additions after your purchase or did you order them when you bought the tv. If you add them at the time of purchase, are the internal connections or are they seperate from the tv. Finally, I'm in Denver so does anyone know if the Panny hums like some of the lower quality plasmas? Thanks in advance |

It was easy to install once I figured out where it had to go (and I am no frigging electronics genius). All you do is unscrew four screws, push the blade in (it snaps in place like a plug into a computer slot) and then screw in four screws. (Although I did waste about 10 minutes trying to figure out where to put it as it was above the pictures of the inputs). I have heard no humming whatsoever. I really like the unit. The manuals that come with it really are bad. |
Anonymous | Do plasmas have any of the issues that rear proj.s have ie blurring during fast moving scenes, lag with video games, rainbows, screen doors...... I was originally set on a jvc dila, but the room it's going in lends itself much better to a plasma due to viewing angles etc. So now I need to go through the process again and educate myself on the goods and bads of plasma. I've decided on the 50" Panasonic instead of the 42". Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim |
