Connecting a dvd to a tv/vcr combo(1 unit)

Hello, I have a dvd player hooked up to a tv/vcr combo (1 unit, cannot be separated) I used a rf modulator to accomplish this. the problem is that the copyright protection thing they put on dvds to keep you from copying them to a vhs tape is screwing up the picture. it gets dark and then light over and over and over. Is there any way to bypass this since I cannot get around the vcr hookup? thanks.

You need a stabilizer. Then use the RCA jacks, not coax. There is no need for the modulator.

Hi, thanks, I don't think the tv has rca jacks, hence the reason for the modulator. Can I use the stabilizer with the modulator and where can I find one of these, radio shack? thanks

Radio Shack doesn't sell them, you have to get one online. Are you sure there are no RCA inputs in the front or back? If not it must be old. I don't know if a stabilizer would work through the RF input or not, I would guess it would, they are made to use with RCA or s-video inputs.

You can use RCA jacks, an s-video cable is better if the TV has s-video. Connect to the TV, then set the TV on whatever input you used, look for an input button on the TV or remote.
