I am noticing a 3-4 inch yellow spot when dark images are shown (like transitional black during movie watching). Are these "dead pixels"? If so, what is the best way to handle it.
Dead pixels would show as constantly black. Stuck pixels would show as constantly the same color - be it red, yellow, blue, etc. So, you can confirm that they're stuck pixels by viewing different images and noting whether or not the pixels change color. In all likelihood, you have a piece of dust or something somewhere in your internal mechanisms. I was just reading a post on AVS Forum where a guy was seeing a constant yellow spot, had his tv cleaned, and the problem was gone.
If its still new or under warranty, I'd definitely have it looked at or replaced right away.
