New member Username: BobbyewingPost Number: 1 Registered: Apr-05 | Does anyone know if there are any plans for perhaps a 42" version of this set? I like the design, the picture is great, most comments on here are positive. But 50" is just too big for my house. Does anyone have any inside info? |
FYI Unregistered guest | I don't think so. The smallest DLP is 46 inches. The 4674 is practically the same set without the pedestal. It has the same HD2+ light engine. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php?sort_type=price&masterid=4941739& isbn=&pid= New sets will have a chip change, internal tuners, and CableCard. dlp fan Unregistered guest | HELP... I'm ready to buy a Sammy, but I'm torn between the 5685 and the 6167. I like the pq of the 5685 but not the kirk pedelstool. Does anyone know if the 6167 is as good as the 5685 as far as picture goes? |
FYI Unregistered guest | The 5674 is closer to the same set as the 85 and is a table top model. Both have the higher contrast HD2+ chip. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php?sort_type=price&masterid=5029645& isbn=&pid= The 6167 has an excellent picture, but it's the older HD3 chip with useless CableCard and internal digital tuner. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php?sort_type=price&masterid=8192825& isbn=&pid= |
dlp fan Unregistered guest | Thanks for the info. I am confused about something though. The 6167 is listed as having 2500:1 constrast ratio and the 5674 is 2000:1. Also, the 67 series is part of the new line with latest gen light engine, etc.. So my question is why would the 2004 model tv be better than the 2005? Is it due to the HD2+ chip only? |
