Anonymous | With the popularity of FTA receivers and their amazing potential to receive 1000's of channels, there has been a wave of knock-off receivers that claim to be just as good, or better than the originals like the Pansat and Fortec brands. This statement is absolute false. The Fortec and Pansat brands have many models for Europe, Asia, and North American markets. They are a true free-to-air satellite receiver manufacturers, not a clone manufacturer. There are many lies and deceptive practices performed by many online dealers claiming that their "special FTA receiver" is just as good as the original. The truth is, it is not. These clone manufacturers have approached us to sell their product and we have refused. The reason for this is their poor product quality. These fake models are made in China with sub-standard manufacturing processes and components. The wise consumer will purchase a leading brand product and get warranty and support from a company involved in the FTA market, not just a company out to make a quick buck. If it is a case of $10 to $20 dollars, purchase the original unit that is widely supported in the market, save yourself the hassle in the future. These models below have been confirmed as being counterfeit: - PanTec MS - UltraStar - Pansat 3000 - Pansat 4000 We have done some testing on some of the bogus models on the market and here is what we our research team has found: - Pansat does not make or sell 3000 or 4000 series products. Thus, any and all products sold with Pansat 3000 model are counterfeit satellite receivers. - The paint color on counterfeit satellite receivers is greenish silver. There is a noticeable difference in the color of the top cover when compared to the front panel's color. Authentic Pansat satellite receivers are produced in a "Sony silver" color. - A vinyl protection sheet, which is typically adhered to the top of the satellite receiver, is missing in the counterfeit product. Authentic products always have a protective vinyl sheet applied to them in case of damage during transportation. - Counterfeit receivers have top cover ventilation holes which are noticeably square shaped rather than a smooth, round shape as the authentic model has. - The bottom chassis of counterfeit receivers are flat whereas authentic receivers have several more, upward-punched, square shaped holes. - Counterfeit models have a sticker label listing UL (safety standard) and FCC compliance on the back panel. Sticker label format has been discontinued and is no longer used to list UL and FCC compliance. Authentic models have a UL & FCC clause directly printed onto the metal on the back of the receiver and should be accompanied by a small sticker indicating the month of the product's manufacture (e.g. Sep. 2004 -- (SB)). - A serial number is not attached on both the gift box and the unit (back or bottom) on counterfeit satellite receiver models. It appears as an alpha-numeric listing such as "4G4- " on the FCC sticker label. There is a possibility that a completely fake serial number may be created and attached on counterfeit units in the future. Authentic Pansat satellite receivers will list an eight (8) digit serial number consisting of year, month, unit sequence & other numbers and is located on the bottom of the receiver chassis and on the top side of gift box. |

The international channels work fine, but the problem is on the Dish 500 i get good signal (about 90-100% on the SAT 110 & 119) but i dont get any picture, instead it says "scrambled" or something like that, the level is good, the quality is good... someone help! If you can please email me direct, (email: RawImpact@gmail.com)if you helped reslove the problem, i'd be glad to give you a gmail invitation. New member Username: RawimpactBuena park, CA United State Post Number: 2 Registered: Jan-05 | The dish 500 i have does have Dual LNB's. I bought a switch for it, so i can join all of it together. Each of the two LNBs, has two wires, and i was told to use one from each LNB, this correct? I'm pretty sure my pansat is correct, beacuse i took it to person that already had his dish up and running, he simply plugged in his wire and it worked. I noticed that he had pushed a button for it to work because before it stated scrambled on channel 2. If someone can tell me what's wrong with it, or what i can do i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance. Email: RawImpact@Gmail.com |

largo key Unregistered guest | New flash for Pansat 2500a There is a new flash available for the Pansat 2500a's. The old flash still works fine and is fine to use if you prefer. What the new flash does is adds a satellite designated "Echostar Package" which has the same channels as the Echostar 6,8 and 7 birds only it lines them up in the same order that an Echostar reciever does, thus channel 121 Sci-fi actually goes to Sci-fi when you enter channel 121 from the remote. There are some issues with this flash and channel lists, as detailed in the readme (VERY IMPORTANT TO READ THE README). If you don't wish to upgrade to the flash the old flash still works fine and is fine to use. This is for people who want the Dishnet channels in the same order they are on Dishnet [link removed] |

Unregistered guest | Reading your question on the dsscomunity.com form, you ask for help in programing your reciever. We have some what the same problem, we have the bins and etc. but not understanding what and where the downloader is. Reading the directions of the readme file, of blacklist and we are understanding all up to the point where it says downloader.exe. Loading the bin with the downloader program. Thanks a lot Gradmal carlun@bellsouth.net |
LK Unregistered guest | to flash the receiver... If you are using a 2500a then the rs232 cable should have came with it when you purchased it. I always use the Blacklist updater as a download tool. The BL240 is the best bin number to use. You can find both of them in the FTA files. Timing is an important factor also when it comes to downloading a bin number. With the receiver turned OFF on the back of receiver, conect your rs232c download cable and plug receiver into your power source. Open your updater and insert the 240 bin number. Turn your receiver on using switch on back and watch for flashing Knight Rider lights,at that moment click write on your updater and wait for 100% and then a pop-up saying complete. Turn receiver off on back and disconnect cable and you should be ready to connect to your dish set-up. downloader is a file/software program in the File archive FTA area at dsscommunity/dsscentral..and read some of my posts today in other PANSAT threads here about downloading and installing a channel list using gtools program also.. |

Anonymous | FTA RECEIVERS DO NOT HAVE THE CAPABILITIES OF SHOWING PROGRAMMING OF CHANNELS LIKE A TV GUIDE, IT HAS TO DO WITH DISHNETWORK BOXES OR DIRECTV BOXES. ONLY THING YOU CAN DO IS TO SUBSCRIBE TO DISHNETWORK MAGAZINE TO GET ALL CHANNELS EACH MONTH, OR LOOK ON INTERNET FOR CHANNEL PROGRAMS, AND IT DOES HELP TO HAVE YOUR CHANNELS RENAMED TO COINCIDE WITH DISH NETWORK CHANNEL NUMBERS. MY BUDDY HAS HIS WIRELESS LAPTOP COMPUTER ON HIS COFFEE TABLE AND SOMETIMES SOFA, TO GET ACCESS TO CHANNEL PROGRAMMING. COOL. |
LK Unregistered guest | There is no Program Guide with Dishnetwork,if thats what U mean, using a pansat FTA..but thats not true either cause there is a new "flash" that does! |
Rob Roy Unregistered guest | Hey LK where did you see this new flash that has epg for dish can't find it. Is there anything for BB? |
LK Unregistered guest | File/flash (includes channel list)is at [link removed] in File Share..FTA area...its for pansat...nothing for BB.. X-85BL_050104_240_api(N).zip (size: 654.6 KB last modified: 01-07-2005 ) Pay special attention to the readme, the old flash is still fine to use, this flash is for the purpose of putting the channels in the same order as the echostar package. |
Rob Roy Unregistered guest | Thanks LK but that's not epg that's just a channel list i think? |
LK Unregistered guest | The channels on your remote are the same as on dishnetwork with this file..121 remote=121 dishnetwork= scifi channel...maybe not EPG,but alot better than guessing what the channel is.. IT DOES HELP TO HAVE YOUR CHANNELS RENAMED TO COINCIDE WITH DISH NETWORK CHANNEL NUMBERS. |
Rob Roy Unregistered guest | Yeah there's lot's of flashes that have that included now, but i thought youwhere talken about an epg. This is the only down fall to fta. take care |

LK Unregistered guest | I have a couple of questions and hope someone can help me I have a DTV (directv) oval dish with the 3 lnbs to hookup three different boxes inside the home, and was wondering if the pansat 2500a will work with this kind of dish. Will I have to change any of the lmb's or purchase new ones? Also, I have a old 18" round d*v dish, if my oval dish works with the pansat 2500a, is there anyway to hook both dishes up and what would i have to have to do this. Much help appreciated. Thank you in advance. ANSWER.......................................... You can use the oval dish,it works great but the triple lnb is not advised for FTA. You need to replace it with two DTV lnbs to pick up 110 and 119. The round dish works fine also if you have a Directv lnb for it. They can all be connected together using a diseqc switch which normally comes with a receiver when you purchase one. |
just a girl Unregistered guest | you can use what ever setup you want baby. just as long as you us protection. im getting wet just thinking about it! |
LK Unregistered guest | Sandra...U cannot download 1 receiver info to another with FTA...U can "copy" 1 receiver's info to another using the flashedit program,if U were testing dishnetwork/bev using cards, and therefore use the same card in multiple receivers.. |
Unregistered guest | I have a Pansat 2500a but I can't get all the channel. How do I get all the channel? |
LK Unregistered guest | The more dishs,LNB's and better channel lists...then the more channels..but with 1 dish U can get the 110-119 (dishnetwork)and 91 (bev) satellites..depending on what dish and LNB's U're using with a good channel list again..go read the FTA "pansat" area of forums at [link removed] for info regarding hardware, dish pointing,How To's, channels lists, troubleshooting etc....also every file (flashs, bins, channel lists, downloader etc) and a pansat file manual is there to download in FTA files share area ...and its ALWAYS FREE! |

New member Username: BluejaysPost Number: 6 Registered: Jan-05 | LK..thanks for being so specific on the Pansat2500a files. I was wondering how do you know which one is good or better? There is a picture in the files there that has 4 lnbs connected to an oval dish. Does this mean that with the dish pointed in that particular direction the owner can pull in 4 different satellites with varying signal strengths? I didn't see any motor attached to move the dish? If this is true, do you go through the Pansat 2500a guide 4 times and set up each satellite and then connect to a switch? What about the channel list in the posting you made? You only down load that once and then set up each satellite? Thanks for any help...don't want to screw anything up...I'm going to start with your recommendation of bird 110. |
Anonymous | Can I get this card working on my Mac and get every channel that is available form a PanSat 1500? thanks |
Anonymous | pansat 2500 receivers and other fta's, are not compatible with the directv 3 multisatellite dishes and the like, as the have built in switches that prohibit other frequencies, the higher ones, that are needed to see most of the channels on dishnetwork that you want. all the lnbs on the dish have to be separate. do not use the lnbs that are all connected together, and have one wire coming out for each receiver, you need the diseq switch to separate the satellites to the receiver. that is why it always comes with a pansat 2500a receiver if you buy one off the internet. |
New member Username: TimscarletDayton, Oh Usa Post Number: 3 Registered: Feb-05 | look on this webpage for the pansat blacklist updater and gtools downloads. this is the ultimate download you will need for pansat 2500a flash. its so easy, just make sure you have separate lnbs on your dish. built in switches on your dish will not be compatible with any fta receivers. this is the only flash you need, no codes, no bull . take care, let me know how it goes. tim |
