I currently have a mangavox dvd/vcr/reciever with surrond sound, a TIVO and a 32" Westinghouse LCD flat panel HDTV. I need help getting it all set up properly. I want to be able to get surround sound no matter what i'm doing (i.e. watching one channel on TV while TIVO is recording another, just watch TV with no TIVO, while playing XBox, or while watching DVD/VCR). I have S Video connection and cables and I think all the cables i need to set this up properly. The Best buy guy told me how to do it but it still doesn't work right. HELP!!!
I would make a flow chart of what you have and what you need to accomplish. If you run everything through the receiver then to the TV it should work...You will also need to run an audio out from the TV to the receiver so what you are watching on TV also gets you the sound you desire.
