Victim: Mitsubishi CK3514R Cause: Left side speakers weren't working properly Treatment: Removed back of TV-looked in--did nothing. Then discovered two switches on back. One said ON/OFF the other said Fixed/Var. I moved one or both The sound worked great. An hour later the pic went haywire. Footnote: Got Dish TV installed 2 weeks ago but it's been fine and 2nd TV is still fine on Dish.
John, By removing the back of this 16+ year old TV, you disturbed the dust and cob-webs in there which is now the cause of your picture problems. Also, you just voided your warranty.
Seriously, there's a very slight chance your Dish set top box has a problem, but more likely it's the TV. Check it out by playing a tape or DVD on it.
