Bronze Member Username: Jmvip3mfilesUSA, USA Post Number: 29 Registered: Mar-04 | There will be a NEW Release for the Pansat 2500 later this week, possibly as early as Monday. The new bin cures the freezing problem and adds a few new features tho EPG isn't one of them. There will be a new section added for TV mode with a warning added in the TV mode section (to try and prevent people from changing to PAL) The freezing is non-existant in this new bin (supposedly) and the auto-rolling keys have brought about a newer message than "data is being downloaded". Instead it will state "please wait for picture" as the keys update. This will be similar to the old dtv "please stand by" and supposedly will disappear within minutes and you will indeed get a picture. The EPG isn't ready yet and may be awhile, so instead of focusing on that aspect he did set about to make some changes that might help us all (including fixxing the freezing). The newest bin will NOT work on a Pantec, but it also will not kill it. According to him, once flashed the Pantec when removed from the cable attached to pc and re-installed to TV, it will simply revert back to whatever flash was on it before. This guy is VERY hard to understand and come to find out he's 25 years old (about where I predicted 26 to 27). So I hope I got these details straight. I explained to him that a clone kill would not be a wise idea and he had already come to that conclusion and decided only to erase the new flash (will be interested to see that work). |

largo key Unregistered guest | FTA does NOT pick up DTV,so don't point the dish for DTV...its does pickup Dishnetwork and Bev channels ,so point it towards those satellites and receive their signals...110-119 satellites(Dishnetwork channels)..91 for Bev channels pointing the dish towards Nashville will not get U the nashville channel..U need to point it at the SATELLITE (not the city) and provider such as Dishnetwork, whichever carries that signal channel..no special Dish is needed.. |

If I can get a better deal on the Space Star, will upgrade software to open the box be supported as easily or should we stick to the tried and true Pansat? |
Silver Member Username: Knee_growDetroit Post Number: 172 Registered: Jan-05 | Why you asking them. They are both are retards, they don't know their piehole from a hole in the ground. If you where smart (which you probably arn't) buy the cheapest one. One of the flashes will work on it. Happy testing fruit-tart. |
New member Username: ScohoPost Number: 2 Registered: Jan-05 | Ahh, the warm reception of a common poster. There is always one in the bunch. Friendly advice to all posters: Don't ever argue with an idiot... You'll have to go down to their level and they'll beat you with experience. I'm taking my own advice in this case. Get it my Knee-Grow? I hate fruit-tarts! |
largo key Unregistered guest | Stay with the Pansat...much cheaper...and I think down the road, you will be happier...files everywhere...and it can be easily modded for nagra 2,and rumors of DTV.. |
New member Username: ScohoPost Number: 3 Registered: Jan-05 | Thank You Largo 2) How about the dish I choose. I was looking at this Toroidal T55 Dish that seems to be an all in one. would this be good for the Pansat 2500a or is it overkill, perhaps there is something more practical. I don't want to buy/mount more than one dish and I don't want to get something overkill that I will regret either. I figure with the Pansat, I will need equipment to recieve more than one sat. but how do you seasoned guys do it? Oh, and tommorow looks like good riding weather, I may ride through Key Largo tomorow from Broward. |
largo key Unregistered guest | I suggest using a Dish 500 with dual dishpro LNB's (has built in switch)...very easy and commonly used..and can get both the 110 and 119 satellites (Dishnetwork) using just 1 cable..and can feed 2 receivers..only issue is U must use a dishpro channel list (software),but they are posted at most sites,so thats no biggie...suggest U go read some of the threads in FTA section of dsscommunity.com forums for more info or other ideas...keep it simple.. I will be on the water tomorrow...stop in at sundowners or calico jacks, maybe I'll stop there in my travels...I will recognize a "non regular".. |
New member Username: SilvertongueRincon, Ga USA Post Number: 1 Registered: Jan-05 | Hi guys, what can do? I scanned all the sats, got the channels through 220, but al the channels have a $ infront of them and I get a screen that says bad channel or channel scrambled.......what can I do? |
Silver Member Username: Knee_growDetroit Post Number: 180 Registered: Jan-05 | start your own thread fruitcake. Hijacking is illegal in 48 states. Maybe if you did some reading you would know the answer. Go and read my yound samuri, your answer awaits you.....idiot stick |
largo key Unregistered guest | Pete..the $ indicates that U're picking up Bev,not Dishnetwork...the bad /scrambled signal indicates that U need to use a better channel list for Bev or do another scan Kneegrow...how about giving an answer to some people on occassion...I have NEVER seen U help or truthfully answer a question!...is it that U don't know about this hobby.. |
largo key Unregistered guest | David...U can also use a Dish 500 with dual Legacy (not Dishpro -DP) LNB's with an external switch, and then U won't need a specific Dishpro channel list..some do complain that the dishpro channel lists are limited compared to the regular dish channel lists..again your choice,go read and get some ideas from others at dsscommunity.com |
Silver Member Username: Knee_growDetroit Post Number: 181 Registered: Jan-05 | dsscommunity.com is a joke David. Go to al7bar.tk, much more info and knowledgable people. Bronze Member Username: S_mackPost Number: 42 Registered: Dec-04 | Alright, I've spent days reading FTA stuff... I see a LOT of questions that would help me, but very few difinitive answers (or at least not helpful ones - Knee Grow). I haven't asked any questions myself yet, because I'm a big believer in reading. But man! There's so much and so much of it contridicts. So here are my questions: 1) Is there a true idiot-proof newbie guide anywhere that you know of? I mean real step-by-step stuff because aparantly I'm an idiot. Many of the links on this page are broken, at least right now. 2) Blackouts. One reason I WONT pay for satellite is the damned blackouts. I know NHL isn't on right now, but whatever. I'm a Canucks fan and really only want to watch Canucks games. I ordered Centre Ice last season only to find out that the ONLY Canucks games I can watch are the ones that are on my basic cable anyway! So can I get around these blackouts with FTA? Thanks. |
LK Unregistered guest | Steven..if U really want to know and learn FTA,then go to a reputable site and read their forums, ask questions, download newbie manuals, use the live chat, use the files etc...[link removed] and dsscentral.ne*t are very good...U will NOT learn here. 1.yes newbie manuals are available to download 2. use a different locals in your channel list for NHL |

sammy1123 Unregistered guest | Hi, I have one Pansat 2500 what the easiest way to add another pansat 2500. thanks |
Anonymous | I just bought a Pansat 2500a. Out of the box I wanted to see it work, before programming. I can't get it to see a single satellite. The best signal I can get is level=75% with quality=0%. I live in Tucson, AZ, longitude 110.88. I am using SatCalc @ The Fisherman. fisherman@iname.com |
LK Unregistered guest | go to [link removed] and read the pansat and dish pointing in forums areas..ask for help there.. |
Jim F Unregistered guest | Does the Pansat 2500A get dolby digital (5.1) and if so how do you do it? |
Anonymous | Thanks for the help guys. I got my son to stop by after work today and we aimed the dish. My elevation was way off. Now...what is 110 and 119. I see ECHO 1, 2, 3, 4,...8, 9,. I have a 99% quality on all of these so I went against my principals and flashed my Pansat. I downloaded ECHO 4 & ECHO 7. They're both the same. I have thirty eight PPV but no HBO, SHO, ENC, STARZ. I don't really care but I don't have any DISC, TVL, Sci-Fi, etc. No programs just pay movies. Which ECHO is 110 and which is 119? And I find out that this box does not do closed captions and I am almost deaf. What a life we lead. I appreciate all of the help, thanx again. fisherman@iname.com |

Anonymous | i need information on how to get the subtitles for movies and movies time on my pansat 2500a if you would be so helpful to send me this information that be a great help |
Anonymous | Congratulations ladies and gentlemen. You are in the presence of the number one nominee for dummy of the year award. I can't seem to follow the most simple of written directions. I Downloaded ECHO 4 and ECHO 8.6. They both report back as 110. On the menu in my new Pansat box it gives me the Satellite options of ECHO 1.2 - 3 - 4- 8.6 - 7 and 9. I have downloaded all six of these satellite signals into my box. They all report to be 110 degrees and they all contain duplicates of the same programming. I have six of each program on my menu. I have deleted some of these but I loaded them to see if I could find 119. What am I doing wrong? fisherman@iname.com |
Anonymous | Fisherman you do not mention if your using a twin lnb dish, two single lnb dish's, a disqe switch, need more info. |

As seen above, (Post: Feb 1st) I have a Pansat 2500a with a new DTV 18" twin LNB dish. I now have an 85% level and 99% quality on all ECHO birds. I don't know from IRD's so I can't tell you that. I have a four input Disqe and have one LNB hooked to connection one and the LNB is hooked to connection two. From there it is a continuos run of brand new coax cable, obtained from a DTV installer I know, direct to the back of my box. I just can't find a bird that reports being at the 119 posistion. Every one else does, what am I doing wrong? fisherman@iname.com |
Anonymous | Fisherman sounds like your not aimed properly, a little to the right, if yor lookin from behind, check your skew-az... do each lnb. seperatly, then put on your switch../a 20 dollar signal finder is worth it's wait in gold..hope this helps |
Anonymous | Well, here it is a week later and I have the same ole same oh. I give up. I can get ECHO 7 channels all the way with bunches of PPV. I can't get anything but the basics on ECHO 8.6 or ECHO 9. I have a strong signal on both (89% level & 99% quality) I took the DiSEqC out of the loop and hooked the cable direct to the receiver. I did a channel scan and got the same channels all over again. I bought a inline meter and checked signal strength it was equally high on both LNBs. I give up. I have dumped 8.6/119 from my channel list. Now I am trying to figure out how to get my local channel list into my receiver. A popular thread tells me to use CHANNEL MASTER to edit the list to a GTD file for gTools to load. I need someone to point me to the program "CHANNEL MASTER" all I can find is the old standard antennas they are so popular for. Thanx to all who tried to help me. Your efforts are appreciated, I just feel like a dummy that I can't fix this with so much expert help coming in. fisherman@iname.com |
LK Unregistered guest | [link removed] has many channel lists in .GTD ready to use in Gtools.. |
Anonymous | Fisherman LISTEN! you have both lnb's pointed at the same sat...had the same problema... little to the right, if yor lookin from behind, check your skew-az...scan each lnb seperatly...use a sat finder....then hook up your switch. |

Anonymous | I told you so. You didn't want to believe me so I proved it. I am the DUMMY OF THE YEAR. I don't know your language so when asked a question I answered in mine. I just figured out that the "dual LNB" that came with my dish is a dual output, not dual LNB. Sheeesh...you'd think I could have figured that out sooner. Oh well, so what I will do tomorrow, when it's daylight, is to disconnect the DiSEqC. I don't need two feeds from the same source. I am getting a good signal on what my receiver says is an ECHO bird at 119. Someimes my Pansat calls it ECHO 7, then ECHO 9, other times ECHO 8.6. As you can tell, I don't know. Anyway, I have downloaded the most current channel list I can find, EchoStarPackage. I have edited in my local stations with Channel Master and gTools. To date none of these lists have worked, keep your fingers crossed for me. A question I have for all of you though. I have searched your web sites when you have included them in your response to me, and I have been all night searching the web, including e-bay. I am looking for a "Dual LNB" that is an honest two LNBs with four outputs, I suppose. What I am looking for is the "Y" adaptor to put two LNBs into my new DTV dish. I don't want a clamp on, heaven forbid that I should have to try to mount and aim this thing. I would probably broadcast instead of receive. It is three o'clock in the morning and I am tired, see you tomorrow. Thanx to all of you. fisherman@iname.com |
