I was finally leaning towards Toshiba or Samsung. I wasnt sold on LCD because the Sony's were so bulky and ugly and I couldn't go to another brand for lack of a better picture side by side with Sony..but.. Sony released news of their new line of LCD's to be released this summer, a couple days ago. They are gorgeous and produce a stunning picture from the video's I have seen from the show. I'm going with one of these set FOR SURE... Just a heads up for anyone that didnt know. Here is the link. http://webshots.com.com/4520-6451_7-5716805-1.html |
Peas Unregistered guest | You have waited this long already, why not wait for the holographic projection displays? They can't be more than a couple of decades away. Peas |

In fact, I see a serious problem with these upcomming LCD's. They're only 1,366x768 resolution! That's no better than today's LCD/DLP sets. They are not 1080p!!! How is LCD going to compete against the next gen DLP chips comming out in a few months which are 1920x1080p if LCD doesn't have the same resolution??? I think you're waiting for the wrong product! You should be saving up for the 1080p DLP TV's if you're content to wait on something....that's atleast worth the wait. |

IMO, when an affordable 55" LCD (not projection) that is 1920x1080 comes out for less than $4000, that will be the king of the hill. But, that's years away at my price point. I'll be happy with my Mitsubishi 52" DLP until that time comes. |
