Is there any way to hook up a DVD player to a tv without an audio video input?

You need an RF modulator.

I'm guessing your TV doesn't have RCA inputs since you have an RF modulator. The DVD player connects to the modulator with RCA jacks and the satellite with coax. The satellite signal should pass through when the DVD player is off, when the DVD player is on the modulator should switch to the player.

I HAVE A:
1. TV WITHOUT RCA JACKS CONNECTED TO A RF MODULATOR
2. TIVO/SATELLITE CONNECTED TO RF MODULATOR WHICH IS CONNECTED TO TV; THIS IS FINE. BUT, I HAVE
3. A MAGAVOX STEREO RECEIVER
4. A 5 DISK CD PLAYER CONNECTED TO RECEIVER W/AUDIO CABLES
5. A DVD/VCR COMBO:
I'M HAVING TROBLE FIGURING HOW TO CONNECT THE DVD COMBO TO THE MODULATOR, AND TO THE STEREO @ THE SAME TIME, SO THE MOVIES WILL BE ON SURROUND SOUND. THERES A JACK ON MY COMBO THAT SAYS DVD/ VCR. AND A JACK THAT JUST SAYS DVD. IF I CONNECT THE VCR/DVD TO MODULATOR, THEN I HAVE TO CONNECT THE DVD ONLY TO STEREO & THE VCR ISN'T ON SPEAKERS, UNLESS I CONNECT THE VCR TO SATTELITE THROUGH COAX (FOR TV PICTURE), & THE VCR TO RECEIVER VIA YELLOW VIDEO CABLE. COAX FROM VCR DOESN'T SHOW THAT GOOD.IF IF DO VCR/DVD TO RECEIVER, BOTH ARE ON SURROUND, BUT I ONLY HAVE THE "DVD ONLY" JACK LEFT TO PLUG TO MODULADOR, WHICH MEANS THE VCR ISN'T CONNECTED TO TV/ PLEASE HELP

I'm trying to install in-wall cables for a remote (across the room) DVD component video connection to a yet-to-be-purchased LCD or plasma TV. Apparently regular coax cable can be used to carry the 3 video signals to a wall jack, for extension to the TV, but what about the audio signal? I've been told by high end TV shops to install 5 (or as many as 8) coax cables to make the component connection, but am unsure if they will work for audio. And, if so, can one coax handle each audio channel, or would I need 2 cables each for the left and right channels?
Many thanks if anyone can help.

I ran Coax for audio about 40 feet, it worked fine for me. I'm just using a surround receiver, nothing fancy, and I don't crank the audio up high. 1 cable per channel is all you need. Be sure to use good quality RG6 cable, not RG59.

The player connects to the TV, not the cable box. You need an RF modulator.

I have a Desay Progressive Scan DVD I'm trying to hook up to my mature Mitsubishi TV. I have connected the s-video cable, and the white and red audio to their respective connections. Per the DVD instructions I did not plug in the yellow video connector.

I have sound but no picture. Any ideas????
thanks

Is it on progressive scan? Some players have a switch in the back for progressive/interlaced. You don't want it on progressive.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I checked and there are no switches for Progressive Scan.

You need to set the TV on whatever input you connected the player to, not channel 3. Look for an input button on the TV or remote.

I have Jvc TV connected to Sky box (Thompson)and Sharps vcr which has been recording badly. Am trying to put in Technosonic DVD+R/RW (DVDR2018]and probably remove vcr, although I would prefer not to. A freind helped to set channels on DVD but we could not get Sky set to record on dvdr - I hoped to record a film now and again also we have to change the arial arround if we want to watch TV and have DVD on standby which rather loses the point. Everything seems connected by scart leads and we have not used the red blue & yellow leads. I am sure there must be a way but scared of losing sky pictures - my husband is a football fanatic - is there such a thing as a wiring diagram available, or maybe idiot proof instructions. Help needed please.

Look for an input or aux button, if not go through the channels till you get to line.

We have an old TV, a DVD player, A VCR and a stereo that we had all connected through an RF modulator. We moved and are trying to recreate the old system but have forgotten how it all worked.

Currently we have the VCR connected to the RF modulator, the TV connected to the RF modulator and no idea how to hook up the stereo and DVD player. We used the DVD player to also play CD's and that's why we need the stereo hook-up.

Any suggestions?

If the DVD player has 2 sets of RCA audio jacks, connect one set to the modulator, along with the video, and the other set to the stereo. If there's only one set of audio outputs, then you have to choose between the TV and the stereo.

We only have one audio output on the DVD player, but it was definitely connected somehow before. We have cable that was attached to the stereo with audio jacks (red and white) which then connect into one single black jack. We think the single jack was then connected to the modulator, but we're not sure which place to out it.

We also have one other set of red and white audio jacks which we put from the DVD player to the modulator but were unable to get the TV to acknowledge the DVD player and the DVD player to acknowledge the stereo.

If the stereo has a digital audio input, then you can connect the single cable from the digital output on the player to the digital input on the receiver. Then you can use the RCAs for the modulator.
