sommertime Unregistered guest | My 3100 receiver is stuck on error 002. Was working good then eventually lost signal (like weather) then lost signal totally. Will not connect to satellite now. This happened a few months back, left the receiver off for a month, tried it and it worked. Worked for 1 week and then this happened again. I suspect a hardware issue, any ideas. |

I've only found one of the Dish-birds, how close is the second one ? I have the one without ESPN & Fox sports shows. HELP !! |

Ed112 Unregistered guest | Hi, I have tried resetting the parental password by following the Memory Dump instructions, but the password did not reset (everything else went according to instruction, a message said memory has been corrupted and I unplugged the receiver). However, there is still a password, and it is not 0000, 3472, or 9969 (the default passwords for Dish DVB). Can anyone help? Or tell me at which address in the memory dump is the password stored? |

If you have had it working before then be sure the contacts are clean (pink eraser works well) and check the lock/fuse bits they should be: Lock/Fuse Settings LOCK BITS - all checked FUSE LOW - All checked but BODEN and SUT0 FUSE HI - OCDEN, EESAVE, BOOTRST FUSE EXTENDED - both checked It Should Read FF/AF/89/FF On The Bottom. |

Turn your lock off and try that, you may try an IRD reset/memory dump or use your legit CAM. Rule out that its the CAM (I doubt that its and ECM where you have a D-lock installed.) Then be sure you have the latest firmware and if not force and update with J-keys by erasing SA3 on the 3100 and power cycle (With the D-lock off), wait for the power LED to stop flashing and power off and back on by itself. Then you can turn the lock back on. Good luck. --------------------------------------------- Memory Dump/Hard Reset for 3100 IRD: With your remote press (Menu) (6) (3) Then be fairly fast and press (Info) (>>> ) Right (<<< ) Left A memory dump screen will appear, and then press (Tv/video) A memory corrupt screen will appear. Put your remote down and unplug your IRD (receiver) Wait for a few minutes. Plug it back in -------------------------------------------------- |

Sometime the screen freezes before it does this, where I have no communication between the remote and the reciever until its reset itself and is back on. Is this a problem with my box? or my card? Also, will the quality of cable from the disch affect this? I'm not sure I have the right kind. |

The problem though is that my program guide shows channels for the 119 satellite as well as the 110, so I don't know if I can really view the channel until I go in and it either comes in or I get an error message that its the wrong sat. Then you'll only have the one satellite that you want. If you want both satellites physicaly hooked up then you'll need to make custom program guides for each satellite (or just the one) with the channels that you watch (You may not be able to do them all because of memory limits of the IRD's EEPROM) |

Silver Member Username: FryguyNova Scotia Canada Post Number: 439 Registered: Jun-04 | You have a few things you can try. 1: re-flash your TSOP 2: do a forced TSOP update 1: It's a TSOP problem re-flash your TSOP with your backup bin file, you made a backup right? If not skip to or skip to #2 because it's easier:-D. 2: Forced update of the TSOP can be done by using a j-tag and erasing a specific address (SA) in the memory. This will force the TSOP to update from the satellite stream. a) You will need a J-tag interface ($25-60) and a program called J-keys (free download), if you have never done this before. If you have, then skip to c). b)The hook-up depends on the model and some can't be j-tagged at all making re-flashing the firmware (software on hardware device) back onto the receiver impossible (by a normal user means anyway, a technician can use an external programmer after removing the chip). c) Erase the SA related to your IRD to force the update. EX: with 2700 its SA5 then power cycle receiver. And with the 3100 or 301 its SA3 then power cycle receiver. The power led will come (you wont get any picture right now, don't worry) on then after a while the light will flash DO NOT UNPLUG UNTILL IT STOPS FLASHING AND RE-STARTS! The flashing is indicating that its flashing the TSOP from the stream so if you unplug you will corrupt the TSOP beyond a simple forced update repair and you'll need to resort to a full TSOP flash from a backup (#1). If you need to do a full flash and you don't have a backup then things can get real fun. |

If they wont write then you got a card thats starting to go bad. They are run overclocked and they don't like it, thats why it happens in the first place. |
