New member Username: PugcharlieN, E, PA USA Post Number: 4 Registered: Feb-05 | I have purchased the Sony KDF-50WE655 and take delivery nexy week after the Sony stand arrives directly from Sony tomorrow(CC doesn't carry the stand). I noticed that there are only two sets of component video imputs. I plan on using a cable converter box and the Sony Dream System DAVFR8. Both need the component inputs. I wanted to also use a second DVD player (it is region free) but would have to use an S-Video input UNLESS there are component video signal switchers. Does anyone know of any that are made? Thanks. |
FYI Unregistered guest | I've seen switchers for single RCA composite video connections, but not component. If you must have a switcher, look for a home theater surround sound system with 3-5 component inputs. You need one anyway to really enjoy the home theater experience. A good 5 channel surround system is very reasonable these days since there are 7 channel systems on the market a little ahead of their time. I've seen new systems around $200 and even less on eBay. |

It has only component video out jacks for itself. I can make do with using the S Video jack for the other DVD player but I know the results won't be great. I am surprised that there aren't signal switchers for this as there are for regular and S-Video devices. I will keep looking.... |
FYI Unregistered guest | I didn't realize the Sony DS was a home theater system. Strange that it has limited inputs. My Onkyo 602 has 3 component inputs as well as the component out. Sorry! I did find a JVC switch! Looks pretty good! http://www.svideo.com/com3.html It's on eBay too! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem%26item%3D5752658034&category=32835 Here is another pricey one! http://www.digitalconnection.com/products/video/1154a.asp |

New member Username: PugcharlieN, E, PA USA Post Number: 9 Registered: Feb-05 | I found a JVC component source selector at Crutchfield's for $99.99 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-3NqIrfHQuaP/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=15270&I=257JXS11 1S&search=JVC+JX%2DS111 That's the price one has to pay for getting a total product package like a Sony Dream System. Checking all complete "Theater in a Box" products, that looks like how it works. If one wants multiple component imputs, then a regular component system is the way to go. I am pleased with the features of the Dream System including the sound and design so I guess a hundred bucks for the switcher is an easy compromise. |
