I started having an issue with my 5 month old Sony KF50WE620 tv. As of this morning, whether I play a DVD or view the cable channels, all images have an orange tint to it... looks like I lost a color or something?? I thought it could be the bulb but the light in front of the TV doesn't flash as described in the manual. I checked all connections and they are all tight. Played with the color settings and that didn't help either. Any thoughts? Everything is just orange.. blends well with my wall color.. ;-)

Hi Eric
I have the same problem, but only notice it when the HDTV 16:9 on some channels, so I went to get a monster cable ($200) for my RGB cable. the answer is NO different. the orange/red line still there. but if I try to watch normal TV it don't show at all.please let me know if you find the solution.

I just called in for service on my Sony 50" with Red lines on the lower left quad of the screen about 4" in diameter right now... hopefully this gets fixed. I have had no other problems with this TV.

I got kind of the same problem with mine, only it is the blue color I get(looks like black and white TV but in shades of blue instead ).
The TV set is still on warranty but I would like to see the problem solved if it is the light motor that is causing the problem.

Is the light motor consider a defected part in the Sony's 50" LCDPJTV Model# KF50WE620? If so shouldn't Sony recall this tv to fix the defected part for free? Is the light motor the same thing as the UHP lamp? If so, you can replace this for about $300.00 to $500.00 bucks. I also read other threads on this site that said, after about of 2000 to 2500 hours the picture quality starts to deteriorate. Is this true? Does mean I will have to replace the UHP lamp or the light motor when this happens?

I am think about buy one, but don't want to have to pay new tv money($1200.00) just to fix it when and if the light motor goes bad.
