My son had a 55" Sony LCD delivered last month. It arrived DOA. Sony warrenty showed up and decided it was a broken mirror. Two weeks later they are back, but can't get the TV apart. I did see that the screen was also scratched on the inside from the edges of the mirror that is laying against it. Is there any other damage that can occur, like the face of the LCD screen, other mirrors, etc. The two "technicans" didn't have a clue. I am pursuing a replacement from SONY and would like any more info on the possibility of damage that can't be seen now.
My Toshiba showed up DOA as well. It took a while to realize that the glass screen behind the anti reflective screen was in a million pieces. It went back to the store the next day for a replacement. There's no way that I'd accept a broken product to be reparied at my inconvenience. Demand a new working one ASAP!!!
