I'd like to buy an Onkyo DVD player to go with my Onkyo receiver.

Has anyone had any experiece with either the Onkyo DV-SP302 or DV-SP502 players?

I doubt I'll ever bother with SACD... so don't know if the added expense of the 502 is worth it.

Any suggestions you could provide would be appreciated.

I have a DV-SP302 DVD player connected to a plasma TV. I am using the component cables to connect to the plasma form the DVD player.

The picture freezes ever so slighltly every 20 seconds. Is this a fault with the DVD player or should I be changing the set up. I have set the DVD to progressive scan.

Interestingly, I've had a similar experience with my DV-SP302 -- a never-used floor model purchased just a week ago. Except that in my case, the picture freezes momentarily every *four* seconds. It's driving me up the wall, so I'm taking it back.

Would love to know if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

I just bought a DV-SP302 and hooked it up to my D-Series JVC TV throught S-Video. The TV is not progressive scan. Every few seconds the image slows briefly and then continues. It is very subtle but very annoying. I haven't seen if there is any settings in the actual player yet. I may have to set it up.
