I don't know, but after my own experience, i think the 'good' reviews on this tv are 'created' by upper management at Zenith. Personally, i'd advise people to NOT purchase this TV, or if they are goofy enough and choose to ignore this, to remember this review/post once THEY are the ones writing a similar one. I have had mine for a little under a year. I experienced the usual quirks with this model, such as the lengthy turn-on time, blurry screen unless you personally adjust contrast & sharpness, etc. -- I expected that because I read on it a little before I bought it. What I did NOT expect, was the image burn!!! I mean, after all, it is sold as an LCD TV!! I mean, for heaven's sake, even the name says it: LCD52 ... anyway, after a few months of use, the screen began developing a long blue streak across the middle. At first it was only discernable when switching channels, etc. THEN, the blue streak began getting bigger, and WORSE ... images from everything else imaginable began burning into the screen in a matter of minutes (without exaggeration). I have just contacted the Zenith customer service, but thought I'd research this problem a little, and came across this site. I thought it very important to warn people just in case they are thinking of purchasing this TV. As I said at the beginning -- your choice whether to heed or not. I wish you luck, wish me the same. By the way, we have opted to go back to using our old 60" projection TV because the image on this one is so bad. Right now it is just a pretty, pretty-useless box in the living room. Quite sad actually, especially when I think that we could have invested our money in another model that perhaps would not be doing this.
This sounds a lot like a bad filter in front of the light engine. I just had three projectors from one manufacturer serviced under warranty for the same type of thing.
If it's just the filter, you're in luck...it's not very expensive to fix. However, if it's actually the panels themselves, big trouble...cheaper to get a new TV.
My TV won't turn on anymore after 8 months. Zenith repair says they can't fix it. Apparently this is a common problem. Do not buy this TV or interact in any way with this Korean company (LG).
