Is my Hitachi faulty ????

I just fired up my brand new Hitachi 50V500 for the first time, and there is a completely BLACK triangle about 3"x6" in the bottom right hand corner of the screen that won't go away.

Is the LCD tv faulty, or am I missing something ?

Any help would be appricated.
