I'm looking for a DVD player to compliment my Hitachi 60" LCD RP HDTV. It has a DVI connection as well as component. I think I have narrowed my choices to the Sony NS-975V or the Momitsu DV-880. Anyone have (good or bad) experiences with either?Any opinions on how they compare? I hear the 880 lacks things like pause, zoom and slow mo but makes up for it with picture quality and and other areas. Any advice will be appreciated.

momitsu v880 deluxe is better. sony makes junk for dvd players. the 975 suffers the chroma bug, can't pass black than black, neither of those issues effect the Momitsu. Only thing the Sony has going for it is the SACD, and it also have motion adaptive deinterlacing. I'd take the momitsu over the sony anyday though. The MPEG decoder in the momitsu is the best

and to add to my original answer. the v800dx has 3x zoom, slow motion. Make sure you get the deluxe model. Also, the Momitsu can output 720p/1080i thru its component output.
