The Denon offers the DCDi by Faroudja FLI-2301 Decoding Engine and black level setup. DVI output (which would be good enough for me since I'll be splitting the audio anyway).
I'm getting the JVC D-ILA and I know Mr. Lynch has the Toshiba on it. The Denon is only about $50 more. Anyone have any experience with it or into on it (review, etc).?
I have the Denon 1910, which I believe is the black version of the 755, and I am very happy with the unit. I have it hooked up to a Mitsu WD 62725 with a DVI to HDMI cable and the picture is outstanding. Initially I was disapointed with the picture using the digital conections and found the picture to be dull and low in contrast. The analog component cable produced a much brighter picture. I later found that with the Black level feature was responsible for the poor picture contrast. With the feature off, the picture quality was much better. So, don't put a lot of weight on the Black Level feature because found it to degrade the picture. I selected the Denon because it is an entry level DVI compatable player and because it Denon's excellent reputation of audio quality. I have a Denon AV receiver and wanted the sound quality to be compatable.

Home Theater HiFi has a good article, DVD Benchmark, by Kris Deering, that gives some good information on the 1910. Go to the eCoustics Editorial review section>Home video>DVD players and enter a search for Denon.
